Three Dollar Bill, Y'all $ - Limp Bizkit

Image
Welcome back to my blog. If you were an avid reader of my previous posts, you won't be disappointed with this entry. If you are new to the blog, here is what I do. Basically, I review albums I like or albums that are suggested to me and I rank each song in a list. The list starts off with my favorite songs to my least favorite songs. This review is all subjective, so if you don't agree with my opinion, I would love to debate why one song should rank over another song. If you can, just message me for online discussion and debate. Anyway, back to the review. You were probably expecting another Primus album because if you know me, I love the band Primus. They are my number-one favorite band of all time. After listening to EVERY song produced by them, I started to search for more alt-rock bands I would enjoy. I already listened to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I listened to some Tool. It just felt like something was missing, and what was missing was Limp Bizkit. I must clear this

Brown Album - Primus

Image
Before I start this review, I have to say it. This album is hands down my favorite Primus album I listened to so far. "Antipop" was great, but this album is phenomenal. In this album, Primus explores new territories, song wise. How I even started to review this album was a shocker. I was pretty busy one night and for some unknown reason (even to myself), I decided to listen to Primus's "Brown Album." At first, I was unsure of what to expect because I've heard that many Primus fans disliked this album because it was extremely different from their previous album's. In my honest opinion, this album is 100 times better than there last album before "Brown Album." That album was "Tales from the Punchbowl"(which I also listened to that night). "Tales from the Punchbowl" was awful. I felt like I was listening to more of an orchestra, than anything. By that statement, I mean that there were hardly any songs with lyrics in them. Not o

In Utero - Nirvana

To get this review started off, FIRST, like any Nirvana fan I was introduced to Nirvana by "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Just kidding! Anyway, Nirvana was always, to me, like one of those bands just out there. It was like one of those foods I ate and thought "it was just O.K." After listening to this album though, my opinion of Nirvana has remained the same. My honest opinion is that they are overrated, like so many other bands, but just because they are overrated doesn't mean I hate them. Was it my favorite album I reviewed? No! Not by a long shot! I did not hate it though. It was actually better than I expected. My biggest problem with this album though was that there was too much screaming in some of the songs. Grunge is supposed to be messy, but I just thought it was sometimes unnecessary. To continue my other point, just like The Beatles, they are so overrated. This is not my favorite band in the world because I know there are bands like Primus and the Red Hot

Kerplunk - Green Day

Image
When I think of Green Day albums, I think of "American Idiot" and "Dookie." The last album that comes to my mind is "Kerplunk." The only reason I think that way is because there is nothing really notable about "Kerplunk." Other than "Welcome to Paradise," that's pretty much it. Even that song is overshadowed by the version on "Dookie." To reiterate what I said before, there is nothing special about this album. For some gut feeling though, I decided to review (very similar as to how my review began with the Primus album "Antipop"). I don't think I've ever even heard a Green Day fan say that "Kerplunk" was there favorite album. My first time of hearing about Kerplunk happened during my senior year of high. While listening to their latest album "Father of All...," one of my friends told me that this sounded nothing like their earlier albums. The albums he referenced where "1,039/Smoo

Antipop - Primus

Well, things are very odd. First of all, I would have thought "Sailing the Seas of Cheese" would've been my first and last Primus album review, but it turns out that I was wrong, and when I say wrong, I mean COMPLETELY wrong. I loved the album "Sailing the Seas of Cheese" so much that I thought by reviewing another Primus album wouldn't hurt, but how on earth was I going to choose the next one. Primus is a band that is liked similarly to how people like candy corn, you either love it or you hate it. In my case, I loved it, but another challenge comes to mind when I have to review another great album by them. I had to pick another album quick and fast because I was already behind on my "Sailing the Seas of Cheese" album review, so which album was it going to be. I will let everyone know that one of my favorite songs by Primus is "Lacquer Head." This song is very comedic in its subject matter and it has a bass riff that I would call unthink

Sailing the Seas of Cheese - Primus

Never in a million years would I have thought I would review a Primus album. If you've never heard any Primus song, then I recommend you check out their most popular songs, if you don't, then you're in for a surprise.  I think I'm still unsure of my overall opinion of Primus. Don't get me wrong, I love their music and the catchy songs they make, but some of their songs are incredibly unusual when it comes to the way they sound and the lyrics of them. I always think to myself when I'm about to listen to a new Primus song that it's a complete mystery as to what I'm going to hear. One moment you could be hearing a completely "regular" sounding song, and the next moment you could be hearing circus music. I say the term "regular," because when a Primus song comes on, you know it's for sure a Primus song. Ever since I started this album review blog, I always told myself that I was going to review Primus, and finally, the day has come. I

Mother's Milk - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Image
If you can't already tell, I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. One may have figured it out by now after I reviewed their "Greatest Hits" album and reviewed "Californication." This week though, I am focusing on my current favorite album by them and that is "Mother's Milk." I thought I loved "Californication," but I was dead wrong. To be honest, there were songs on "Californication" that I wasn't too fond of. On the other hand, after listening to "Mother's Milk," I quickly realized that I liked every song. Throughout all the albums I listened to from many bands, I've never listened to an album were I liked every song on it, excluding "Toys in the Attic" by Aerosmith. "Mother's Milk" had funky songs, as well as very catchy songs that I could not push out of my head. From "Higher Ground" to "Knock Me Down," I couldn't stop listening to these songs. These songs had v
